Robin is reading The Cat’s Mind by Bruce Fogle. Dr. Fogle reports a lot of research, including a chapter on rank and territory in communities of cats. Mostly, wild communities are females only. Some male kittens get to stay with their moms until they are one year old. They are called novices.
I am a novice, but something happened between me and my mom when I was only one month old. I’m glad I found Robin’s house then. The people feed me, and I get to be a novice in our little cat community. It’s important not to skip developmental stages.
Next, I get to be top cat.
