Art Auction for Japan Animal Relief 2.0, No. 2

Thanks, pals, for your interest in the auctions and in moving resources to the people who are working with displaced animals in Japan. Before we start the next auction, I’m going to share with you one of the best sources to read for information from the area affected by the tsunami and earthquake.

Three animal welfare organizations collaborated to form Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support. In addition to locating, rescuing and housing animals — as if that weren’t enough — JEARS committed to providing information about the relief work to the global community. The JEARS Facebook page has amazing, and harrowing, updates several times a day. I go here first for updates. JEARS has its own website now, too. You can donate there, see additional stories (in English or Japanese), and link to the page on Facebook too.

JEARS has also partnering with the international relief organizations as well.

Tote bagThe auction for the print of Mario the cat was very popular, and we hope tonight’s art auction catches the fancy of the online pet community as well.

Tonight, we offer a great totebag by Connie, @Boomiethecat’s mom. Sorry, this time no cats to go with the bag. Hee

The colours of this bag are reminiscent of Caribbean waters and is made from 100% cotton batik fabrics on the outside as well as the inside lining.  The interior of the bag is finished with no exposed seams and has a small pocket.   It measures approximately 14″ (35cm) high and 19″ (48cm) side not including the straps and has been machine quilted using a rayon thread which gives it a slight sheen.  It is machine washable and dryable.

We will take bids on this lovely tote bag until 7:59 CDT tomorrow, April 6. Only 24 hours and this bag could be yours along with the great feeling that come when we share with others in a time of crisis.

The opening bid is $25. Please bid in increments of $5 or $10. Once again, thanks for supporting the auctions, World Vets, and the displaced animals in Japan.

See you tomorrow at 7:59 to find out who wins the bid. In the meantime, I’m hanging out in my new, impenetrable hiding place.

  1. I LOVE you all, as Nutmeg would say, but I think I’ll stay here in my house. You might be able to convince Karma to get in the bag….
