I told Spooky’s story in detail because my Twitter friends @Smokey8 and @ConfuciusCat and some others found the bits I included in tweets interesting and moving. When @Smokey8 saw the full stoy about Spooky and Lyta’s kittens, she passed my name on to @Lexiloudog, who is the anipal curator of the National Gallery of Writing’s gallery for Articulate Animals.
I looked at the submission guidelines and decided to submit the piece @Smokey8 liked. The gallery includes writing by my pals @BorisKitty and @Romeothecat, among other distinguished writers in our group. I am honored to have my work featured among theirs.
The National Council of Teachers of English hosts the National Gallery of Writing. The point of the project is to feature writing by ordinary people from all walks of life. (Or ordinary cats.)
